Champion REIT is a Real Estate Investment Trust Established in 2006
Champion REIT has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 24 May 2006. The Trust initially invested and owned 91.5% stake of Three Garden Road (formerly known as Citibank Plaza), a Grade A commercial complex with two office buildings located in the Central Business District in Hong Kong. In 2008, the Trust acquired the retail and office components (excluding four floors) of Langham Place in Mongkok, which is one of the busiest public transportation hubs and a popular shopping destination with tourists and locals alike. Later in 2013, the Trust acquired the remaining floors of Three Garden Road, unifying the ownership of the entire commercial complex. The total assets of the Trust marked a significant increase from HK$25.9 billion at the end of 2016 to over HK$71 billion as at 31 December 2020.
Trust Profile
Champion REIT is a real estate investment trust formed to own and invest in income-producing office and retail properties. The Trust’s focus is on Grade A commercial properties in prime locations. It currently offers investors direct exposure to nearly 3 million sq. ft. of prime office and retail floor area. These include two Hong Kong landmark properties, Three Garden Road and Langham Place, as well as joint venture stake in 66 Shoe Lane in Central London.
Trust Objective
Champion REIT’s key objective is to provide investors with stable and sustainable distributions, achieving long-term capital growth. This aim of delivering attractive total returns will be achieved by, among other things, proactive management of the properties in the Trust’s portfolio and the selective acquisition of properties that will enhance distributions.
